| Some of you may know that i recently applied for a new position at work. its in the same program i currently work in(bridges) at the children's home. well i found out on friday that i got it! i am now the educational/vocational coordinator. well technically i will take it over as of august 1. i am really excited about it. the position(as i understand it) is 2 fold. on the education side i will get kids enrolled in school, check up on school progress(grades, attendance, etc), help keep the GED kids on track, help the kids wanting to go to college get enrolled, etc. On the vocational side of things i will take kids job searching, show them how to write resumes, etc. its been a good week. i turned 30 last tuesday, saw dark night on thursday and got a promotion friday. have a great week and God bless. sdg | | |
| well i decided to grace my many xanga fans with another weblog. i know what your thinking....its only been about 7 months since your last post....whats the rush? well i can't keep my fans waiting forever. lets see whats new? i am still working at the childrens home. i have been here now for over 2 years(so i guess technically thats not new). things are pretty good here. i am starting a new schedule on monday( this is the new part). it will be this really weird schedule. ill work mon- fri from 9 am to 5pm. its gonna take some getting used to. actually i am really excited. its the frst time i have worked "normal" hours. i am actually at work now. its 1230 am and i have been here since 1130 am and i probably wont leave until sometime between 9 and 1130 am. so yes i may work 24 straight hours. man im an idiot. no wait im a wonderful and dedicated employee(who also happens to be an idiot). so if anyone wants to hangout after i start my new schedule hit me up. have a great day and God bless. sdg | | |
| Well once again it has been several months since my last post. I am still working at WCH. It is going pretty good, although I am wanting more regular hours. My current hours are hard on me because I work 3rd shift on the weekends and pretty much keep a 1st shift schedule during the week. I swapping back and forth messes with me. So hopefully sfter this semester is over I can make some changes to my schedule or I may end up finding a new job. We will see. I am still taking classes. They are going pretty good. The semester is almost over so I have a lot of work to do. Is it bad that I am not even all the way through my first semester back and I am already sick of homework? Hmmm.... what else is new? I downloaded some stuff off of itunes. They have this new thing that's itunes u or something like that and its different lectures from universities. I downloaded a lecture ( well actually several lectures broken down into about 96 bite size pieces)on systematic theology from Reformed Theological Seminary. I'm pretty excited about that. Each part is 30 mins to an hour long. The best part is it was free! I love me some free stuff. I think I'm gonna go through it one part a day. I already down loaded it to my ipod and listened to the first one. Good times. I never thought I would get excited about listening to and studying theology, it been more of a chore than a pleasure for me in the past, but I can honestly say I'm looking forward to this series. They also have church history and other stuff. So yeah. Wahoo for learning. Well I'm at work so I'm gonna hop offa here. God bless and have a great day.

| as many of you know i was unhappy at t-mobile. i finally did something about it and quit(this time i made sure i had another job first). about a month ago i quit and went back to working at the childrens home. i am glad to be back! it is a lot less money, but its a job that matters. i have also started school again. its weird bing back in school. it has been nearly a decade since i have been in school(actually 9 years). i am only taking 6 hours, so i can ease back into it. i am taking theatre appreciation and intro to lit. so yeah. we will see how it goes. it was weird, i walked in to get some info and the next thing i know they are taking my pic for a school id and giving me a parking pass. i have great news i am NOT the oldest one in my theatre class, there are at least 3 people older than me. not sure about the lit class because its an 8 week class that starts in oct. so yeah im in college. what else is new...oh yeah my brother bob is moving in with me on sept 1st, so thats cool. well i gotta hop offa here. | well it has been yet again several months since my last post(ok more like 2, but whose counting).i am still working back at t-mobile. it still feels strangely familiar. The sights, the sounds, the calls...ohhh the calls. unfortunately there is another familiar feeling...i'm already ready to quit. i don't like working there. i have only been back about 3 and 1/2 months and i'm looking for another job. it seems not much has really changed. the only good part is the paycheck and the benefits. i'm just not a person who can stay at a job i don't like just for money. well then why did i go back? i think the longer i was away i just convinced myself that it wasn't so bad. it is somewhat frustrating me. i turn 29 in less than a month and i have no idea what i am supposed to be doing with my life. one good thing is this last round at t-mobile has convinced me that i'm not supposed to work in call centers. thats enough of that. on to happier things. i had a good day on saturday. went to mom and greg's and went swimming for a couple of hours(we just put in a pool, and by the way they suck to install). then i went to college hill park to watch "a midsummer nights dream". it was put on by the wichita shakespeare company, unfortunately because of scheduling conflicts i wasn't able to audition for the summer show, but with any luck ill have a new job soon so i can audition for the fall show. the show was really good. it looks like it would have been a fun show to be in. i am also going on a cruise in july. that will be sweet. i have never been on one and we are going because last april was mom and gregs 20th anniversary. so all of us and a bunch of friends are going on a cruise. it happens to be on the week of my birthday so i think i am gonna tell people that its for my b-day. well thats enough for well.
